VIDEO RELEASE: Coast Guard rescues 2 aboard yacht 3 miles east of Hampton, VA

NORFOLK, Va. — The Coast Guard rescued two people stranded in a yacht today three miles east of Grand View Beach in Hampton.

Coast Guard Station Little Creek watchstanders in Norfolk received notification at approximately 7:15 a.m. that the yacht Rebel Yell had lost power and was drifting with two men aboard.

A 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew launched at approximately 7:30 a.m. to assist the drifting vessel’s crew. The boat crew arrived on scene at approximately 8:10 a.m. and towed the yacht to Cobb’s Marina in Norfolk where the yacht crew moored up.

No pollution or injuries or were reported.
