UPDATE: COAST GUARD SEARCHING FOR MISSING BOATER IN VERMILION BAY

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard, Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries, Vermilion and Iberia Parish Sheriff Offices have completed their search for the missing boater, identified as Earnest Hebert, 76, in Vermilion Bay, Thursday.

Search crews located the body at 4:45 p.m.

Hebert was last seen at about 9:30 a.m., Thursday, boating in Vermilion Bay with another persone before the vessel capsized.

The other boater was reportedly recovered with no injuries.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
