Boatcrews from Coast Guard Station Seattle, Maritime Safety and Security Team 91101, Coast Guard Cutter Midgett and Safeboat International convene for an at-sea wreath laying ceremony in honor of Petty Officer 3rd Class Ronald Gill Jr. near Vashon Island, Wash., March 25, 2015.

Boats from each unit, as well as a 65-foot boat built by Safeboat for the Tunisian navy, were strung together, serving as a platform for participating members as they gathered around and paid tribute to a fallen shipmate.

Chris Magavero, retired Coast Guard chief petty officer and Gill's lead petty officer while stationed at the MSST 91111 in Anchorage, Alaska, spoke of his time serving with Gill and reminded crew members of the dangers of the job.

Magavero served as Gill's lead petty officer at Maritime Safety and Security Team 91111 in Anchorage, Alaska, from 2004 to 2006.
